The Upper Room Fellowship began in 1971 when a group of believers gathered in an upper room above a veterinarian's office in Columbiana, Ohio. This location reflected the biblical Upper Room where Jesus' disciples gathered to pray and wait for the Holy Spirit. United by a hunger for God's presence and a desire to experience authentic Christianity, they created a community where people could encounter God and build meaningful relationships. For over five decades, we've remained committed to being a church that transforms lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. What started as a small gathering has grown into a thriving community dedicated to pursuing healthy relationships, accessing abundant wholeness, knowing our greatness, owning a supernatural lifestyle, treasuring His presence, and living the Gospel. Today, we continue helping people in our community discover their God-given purpose and experience the freedom and fullness Jesus promised. We believe God is calling us to greater impact as we serve Columbiana and beyond with the love and power of Jesus Christ. We believe certain truths within Scripture form the essential foundation that unites God's people in experiencing authentic life within the family of God. While the church may differ on non-essential matters—where there should be liberty within the church family to grow in understanding—we are bound together as a family by love. Right belief, championed by love, reflects what Jesus embodied, and we, the Body of Christ, seek to be a living expression of the same. We believe in one personal God who created the universe and exists eternally in three distinct persons: **Father, Son, and Holy Spirit**, who are equal in power, authority, and glory. They are so pure and so united, they operate as one. We believe God is a being of unimaginably wonderful power, goodness, and love. This relational God invites us into community that reflects His nature at its core. The Trinity models perfect relationship where each person honors the others while maintaining distinct identity—a pattern for how we engage with one another authentically, with strength and honor. Through understanding God's relational essence, we discover that authentic connection creates invitational communities that love genuinely, embrace truth, and communicate directly. We believe **Jesus Christ is the Son of God** who laid aside His divine privileges to become human. Born of a virgin, He lived a perfect life of love, bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth. Jesus died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose again bodily on the third day. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is our master, teacher, savior, and friend who now reigns forever with the Father and the Holy Spirit. We affirm that Jesus is both fully God and fully man—the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. In Him all things were created, all things hold together, and through Him all things will be reconciled to God. Through Jesus' finished work, complete salvation, complete healing, and complete deliverance become available to every believer. He loves us and paid for everything we need, opening the way for wholeness in every area of life—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and relationally. We believe in **the Holy Spirit** who constitutes the third person of the Trinity—fully God, co-equal with the Father and Son, possessing all divine attributes while demonstrating genuine personality through thinking, feeling, speaking, and making decisions. The Holy Spirit invites us into authentic partnership rather than demanding religious performance, creating space for genuine relationship that reflects God's relational nature. The Spirit regenerates and indwells every believer in Jesus, revealing Jesus, guiding us into truth, and empowering us for daily living. He provides supernatural gifts to equip the Church for ministry and gives us a foretaste of eternal life. The Spirit can be closer to us than the air we breathe, transforming us to be like Jesus and enabling us to effectively impact the world with heaven's goodness. We believe in a distinct experience of **Spirit baptism** available to all believers, separate from salvation yet essential for empowered witness. This encounter positions believers to step into their calling through supernatural enablement while maintaining dependence on the Spirit rather than human ability. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to believers today, making the miraculous normal rather than exceptional, enabling partnership with the Holy Spirit that breaks free from religious bondage to live supernaturally instead of remaining trapped in sin's brokenness. We believe that **the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments** are the inspired written expression of God and, as such, are authoritative. The Bible reveals who God is and is intended to bring us into relationship with Him. Scripture stands as the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice, serving as our unique and authoritative guide. We believe God divinely inspired the original authors through the Holy Spirit, making Scripture both true and authoritative. While God continues to be present with us, always revealing, He never contradicts what the Scriptures have penned for us. Therefore, Scripture serves not only as inspiration into the life of God, but also as a guardrail for us to know the will of God and test the veracity of all things. All teaching must be firmly rooted in sound biblical exegesis, with Scripture interpreting Scripture and clear passages illuminating the less clear. Cultural trends and human reasoning must submit to biblical revelation. The Bible is both historically accurate and spiritually transformative—living and active, not merely a historical document. Through daily interaction with God in His Word, along with worship and prayer, we forge a kingdom mindset that allows us to live loved and stand firm in who we are in Christ. We believe that **all people were created in the image of God** to enjoy fellowship with Him, giving every person inherent dignity and worth beyond measure. God's original creation was an uncorrupted place of human flourishing through union with God and one another. Inherent in every person is great value and destiny, reflecting God's creative character and relational design as culture makers who reflect His image. Yet humanity willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God, attempting to be our own gods. Because of this fall into sin, sickness, death and judgment entered the world, and creation now experiences the effects and consequences of sin. Human beings are estranged from God, from each other, from ourselves, and from creation. This brokenness affects every area of life—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and relationally—creating the need for complete restoration and redemption. We believe that **the blood of Jesus Christ**, which He shed on the cross, provides the only way for the forgiveness of sin and restoration with God. God freely grants salvation to all who place their faith in Jesus, receiving His death and resurrection as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation cannot be earned; this gift of grace enables wholeness in every area of life. We understand salvation as a past, present, and future reality: For the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. This transformation enables us to live from abundance rather than lack, developing an inheritance mindset rather than an orphan mentality that recognizes our position of having what we need through Christ's finished work. The Gospel represents **the good news that God himself, the Creator, has come to rescue us from sin, and renew all things**, in and through the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf, to establish his Kingdom, through his people, in the power of the Holy Spirit. This good news encompasses the great story of Scripture in four movements: We believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ represents the only hope for humankind, speaking to the whole person and capable of transforming anyone anywhere. The good news extends beyond individual hearts to encompass all of creation, demonstrating that the Gospel is for all things. We model and share the life of Christ through servanthood and bold generosity, ensuring our friends, families, and communities know the powerful love and salvation of Jesus through both words and actions that demonstrate heaven's reality on earth. We believe in **the universal Church**, a diverse assembly of individuals from all races, languages, and countries who have faith in Jesus. The Church represents the community through which God wants to bring love, healing, and growth to the human race, inviting everyone who is willing to follow Jesus. Rather than being merely an institution, the Church functions as the body of Christ, with Jesus as its head. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, the communion of saints, and the holy catholic (universal) church. Through authentic community, we create invitational and strong fellowships that love genuinely, embrace truth, and communicate directly. When conflicts arise, we choose reconciliation over division, celebrating diversity and creating spaces where everyone can belong before they believe. The Church operates under **Spirit-led, elder-governed leadership** where a plurality of qualified elders provides spiritual oversight and protection. Leadership remains character-based rather than merely gift-based, with biblical qualifications for elders being non-negotiable. All believers have access to spiritual gifts, particularly prophecy, which builds up, encourages, and comforts according to biblical pattern, enabling everyone to discover and exercise their unique contribution to the body. We believe **God does not intend for sin and suffering to get the last word** but is at work to redeem and reconcile what He has made. We live in the tension of the Kingdom "now and not yet," praying for His Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven while actively participating in its advancement through supernatural ministry and cultural engagement. The Kingdom operates through believers who serve with God in their unique and personal way, ministering to the world with excellence while standing firm in the truth that there is no spectator Christianity. Each person carries God-given purpose that, when fulfilled, brings deep satisfaction and impacts the kingdom. We engage culture as creative makers rather than mere critics, offering alternatives that reflect heaven's values while recognizing that every person has great value and destiny within God's design. There exists no square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: "Mine!" This comprehensive claim challenges us to engage culture creatively rather than merely critique what exists, creating pathways for everyone to contribute meaningfully while celebrating the diverse ways God's image is reflected through each person. We believe in **the personal, visible return of Jesus** to establish His Kingdom on earth. Upon Christ's return, He will bring judgment, separate the righteous from the unrighteous, renew the earth, and reign as King forever. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost—they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe God is creating a New Heaven and a New Earth where humans will dwell forever with God. This hope inspires godly living and commitment to the Gospel mission while we actively participate in cultural renewal and creative calling that reflects our identity as culture makers who bear God's image through pursuing excellence without compromise in our various spheres of influence. We believe **God gifts both women and men** to serve in ministry, including exercising leadership gifts as elder, pastor, teacher, and other ministry roles. We embrace an egalitarian approach that values the contributions of all believers according to their calling and gifting rather than gender. We believe that women and men are created equal in the image of God, and that God gives leadership in the church based on grace, calling, spiritual gifts, obedience, and character. Both women and men can and should lead, preach, pastor, and minister within the church, as their partnership results in more robust ministry of love and grace that reflects the diverse ways God's image is expressed through His people while creating communities that honor both strength and vulnerability. We believe in the historically Christian view of marriage and sexual expression; namely, that **marriage represents a lifelong one-flesh covenant union between two sexually different persons** (male and female) from different families, and that all sexual practice outside of marriage constitutes sin. However, we express this belief with the heart of Jesus—welcoming all people regardless of sexual practice or orientation to worship with us. Our doors and arms remain open to anyone, as we seek to be a community where those who may be out-of-alignment with certain teachings still feel welcome and accepted in our fellowship. We differentiate between agreement and acceptance, following Jesus' example of radical love and compassion while creating spaces for authentic connection that honors both truth and grace. We lead with love and compassion for people, creating environments where everyone can belong before they believe. Our first responsibility involves being a living display of covenant love and sexuality rather than critiquing the surrounding culture, forming a distinct counterculture where "life to the full" becomes visible as an invitation to all who seek authentic relationship and community. We believe spiritual formation represents the primary focus of the Christian life, balancing theological depth with practical, accessible application. Through daily interaction with God in worship, prayer, and reading the Word, we forge a kingdom mindset that enables us to live loved and stand firm in who we are in Christ. This relationship creates space for transformation that happens naturally when we encounter God's presence personally. Discipleship functions as apprenticeship to Jesus in kingdom living, emphasizing character transformation over religious activity. Spiritual disciplines create space for God's transforming work, presenting salvation as participation in God's life rather than merely forgiveness of sins. We establish daily rhythms that create space to connect with God, approaching worship as relationship rather than religious duty while prioritizing God's presence over programs and performance. The Holy Spirit transforms character through the nine-fold fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This transformation flows through divine enablement rather than human effort, creating authentic change from the inside out rather than external conformity to religious expectations. Walking in the Spirit requires moment-by-moment partnership rather than striving for perfection through willpower alone. We believe all spiritual gifts remain active and necessary for the contemporary church, functioning as tools for building up the body of Christ and extending God's kingdom beyond the church walls. The nine gifts of the Spirit—revelation gifts (word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits), power gifts (faith, healing, miracles), and utterance gifts (prophecy, tongues, interpretation)—operate as the Spirit wills for the common good. Partnership with the Holy Spirit enables believers to break free from religious bondage and live supernaturally instead of remaining trapped in sin's brokenness. We expect God to work in and through us in ways that exceed natural explanation, developing spiritual alertness to hear God's voice and respond to His leading. Every believer can participate in spiritual gifts, particularly prophecy, which builds up the church and demonstrates God's power while serving practical purposes in ministry and relationship. We pray boldly for healing, miracles, and breakthrough while balancing supernatural expectation with biblical wisdom and character development. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to believers today, making the miraculous normal rather than exceptional while maintaining proper order through biblical guidelines and elder oversight that protects the congregation from confusion or manipulation. We believe the Holy Spirit empowers bold evangelism and confirms the Gospel through supernatural demonstrations that combine words and actions in everyday contexts. The same Spirit who empowered Jesus' ministry continues to work through believers today, opening hearts to receive salvation and authenticating the Gospel message through signs, wonders, and miracles that demonstrate God's love and power in practical ways. We engage culture as creative makers rather than mere critics, offering alternatives that reflect heaven's values while serving our neighborhoods, workplaces, and city with decisive acts of service and generous giving. The good news extends beyond Sunday gatherings into everyday life through practical demonstration of God's love combined with clear proclamation of His salvation, ensuring our communities experience the transformative power of the Gospel through both supernatural ministry and relational authenticity. The Great Commission finds fulfillment through Spirit-empowered witnesses who make disciples rather than mere converts, establishing Spirit-filled communities that continue advancing God's kingdom through supernatural ministry and transformed lives. This mission flows from understanding our identity as God's representatives while serving others with humility and genuine care, creating pathways for meaningful contribution while standing for justice and with the marginalized. Every believer carries God-given purpose that impacts the kingdom when fulfilled, recognizing that serving others with clear purpose, giving generously of our time, talent, and treasure, and sharing our faith creates opportunities for the Spirit to work while being good news to our neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities. We affirm our unity with the broader Body of Christ through the historic creeds that have guided Christian faith for centuries: These historic statements anchor us in essential Christian doctrine while allowing liberty in non-essential matters, all bound together by love that creates unity without uniformity. We maintain theological clarity on essentials while extending charity in non-essentials, demonstrating kingdom-mindedness that transcends organizational barriers through cooperation with other Bible-believing churches for kingdom advancement. - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - **Past**: We have been saved by grace through faith—a finished work accomplished by Christ that establishes our identity as beloved children - **Present**: We are being saved as the Holy Spirit transforms us into Christ's likeness, enabling supernatural living through divine partnership - **Future**: We will be saved as God completes His work of redemption in the resurrection of our bodies and the renewal of all creation - **Creation**: God's original design for human flourishing through relationship - **Fall**: Humanity's rebellion and the corruption of creation - **Redemption**: God's rescue plan culminating in Jesus' death and resurrection - **Renewal**: God's promise to restore all creation under Christ's lordship - **The Apostles' Creed** - summarizing the foundational truths of our faith - **The Nicene Creed** - affirming the nature of Christ and the Trinity - **The National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith** - connecting us with the broader evangelical community - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") --- ## URL: https://www.urfellowship.com/new-here ### Title: New Here? ### Page ID: 6948456 ### Content: ### Welcome to The Upper Room Fellowship! ### Family Worship Together ### Coffee & Connection Break ### Message Time & Kids' Programs ### Casual Atmosphere & Accessibility # Your First Visit ### When You Arrive ### For Your Kids ### After the Service We're so glad you found us! We believe in knowing our greatness, that each person has a unique way of ministering to the world around us with excellence. There is no spectator Christianity; inherent in every person is great value and destiny. Our ministries are designed to help you connect with God, build meaningful relationships, and discover the joy of serving others. Whatever your age, interests, or season of life, there's a place for you to belong and make a difference at Upper Room Fellowship. Upper Room Kids is more than just childcare during service—it's a vibrant, exciting environment where children from birth through 5th grade discover God's love through age-appropriate teaching, fun activities, and caring relationships. We believe children aren't just the church of tomorrow; they're part of the church today. Our passionate team creates experiences that help kids build a strong spiritual foundation, form healthy relationships, and understand they have God-given purpose and value from a young age. Our secure check-in system and background-checked volunteers ensure your children are safe while they learn and grow. For parents of young children, we also offer a parent viewing room where you can still experience the service while attending to your little ones. **Sundays**: Children join their families for worship in the main service, then are dismissed to age-appropriate classes during the message time. **Special Events**: Throughout the year, we host special events and seasonal celebrations that create memorable experiences for the whole family. Upper Room Youth creates a safe, engaging space where 6th-12th graders can build authentic friendships, ask tough questions, and develop a faith that lasts beyond high school. We're passionate about helping students own a supernatural lifestyle and pursue healthy relationships during these formative years. The teenage years are crucial for spiritual development. At The Upper Room Fellowship, we don't water down the gospel or entertain students with games alone; we challenge them to go deeper in their relationship with Jesus and equip them to live out their faith in school, at home, and in their community. The Upper Room Youth meet every Wednesday night from 6:30-8:00pm in the Student Center. Life is better together. Living out our value of pursuing healthy relationships, our Table Groups meet throughout the week in homes across the community to study, pray, and share life. These spaces allow us to show up authentically, with kindness and honor. In a church family our size, it's vital to have smaller communities where you can be known, loved, and challenged to grow. Table Groups provide that opportunity—creating environments where you can build meaningful relationships, apply biblical teachings to your daily life, and support one another through life's ups and downs. Table Groups typically meet Biweekly and Monthly and include time for connection, Bible study or topical discussion, prayer, and occasionally serving together in the community. Our Worship Ministry creates environments where people can treasure God's presence through music, art, and technology. We believe worship brings about a kingdom mindset that allows us to live loved and causes us to be fully alive. Worship is more than just singing songs—it's a lifestyle of honoring God in everything we do. During our corporate gatherings, we create space for people to encounter God's presence through Spirit-led worship that is both expressive and accessible. Our team strives for excellence while remaining authentic and focused on Jesus above all. We believe worship is participatory, not performative. That's why we choose songs that are both theologically rich and easy to sing along with. Our musical style reflects who we are as a church—contemporary with some traditional elements, always authentic and Spirit-led. **Join the Team**: If you're interested in serving with the Worship Ministry, we'd love to help you discover how your gifts and talents can be used. After completing our Growth Track, you can audition for the worship team or shadow one of our production volunteers to learn the ropes. Extending God's love beyond our walls through local service projects, community partnerships, and global missions. This is how we live the Gospel—modeling and sharing the life of Christ through servanthood and overwhelming generosity. Jesus called us to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. At Upper Room Fellowship, we take this commission seriously by engaging in strategic outreach efforts at the local, regional, and global levels. We're committed to demonstrating God's love in practical ways while sharing the hope of the Gospel. **Get Involved:** Whether you have an hour a month or feel called to longer-term missions, there's a place for you in our outreach efforts. Through your faithful giving, you're partnering with us to create spaces where people can treasure God's presence, build healthy relationships, and find purpose through serving others. At Upper Room Fellowship, we believe in living the Gospel through overwhelming generosity. Just as Jesus gave everything for us, opening the way for our complete salvation, healing, and deliverance, we're called to give freely and joyfully to further His kingdom on earth. When we give, we reflect God's character and participate in His work of restoration. The Bible teaches that generous giving is an act of worship that reflects our trust in God's provision and our commitment to His mission. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, we're encouraged to give cheerfully, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver. Giving is not about obligation but opportunity—the opportunity to: Grow spiritually as we trust God with our resources Invest in ministry that transforms lives locally and globally Express gratitude for God's overwhelming generosity toward us When we give generously, we're living out our core value of overwhelming generosity—modeling the life of Christ through servanthood and generous giving so that our friends, families, and communities can know the amazing love and salvation of Jesus. Make a secure one-time gift or set up recurring donations through our online giving platform. You can designate your gift to the general fund or specific ministries. Text **urf $50** (or any amount) to **73256** to give instantly. Place your gift in the offering boxes located at the Connection Center during Sunday services, or drop by the church office during the week. Consider including Upper Room Fellowship in your estate planning, stock donations, or other planned giving. Contact our finance team for more information about these options. We're committed to stewarding your gifts with integrity and transparency. Upper Room Fellowship follows strict financial protocols including: Your contributions primarily support our local church ministries, facilities, staff, and outreach efforts, with a portion designated to missions. Living by these values isn't always easy, but we've found it's incredibly rewarding. There's a real sense of purpose and joy that comes from aligning our lives with what God values. As the Psalms put it, "There truly is a reward for those who live for God" (Psalm 58:11b NLT). We've found this to be true in our own lives, especially in the area of generosity. When we give freely as God has given to us, we experience His faithfulness in remarkable ways. At Upper Room Fellowship, we believe in a plurality of leadership rather than a hierarchical structure. Our church is led by a team of elders who share responsibility for spiritual oversight, teaching, and pastoral care. Our leadership team is committed to living out our core values: pursuing healthy relationships, accessing abundant wholeness, knowing our greatness, owning a supernatural lifestyle, treasuring His presence, and living the Gospel. We believe in showing up authentically, with kindness and honor, creating a nurturing community that loves genuinely. We value a plurality of leadership where multiple gifted individuals serve together, providing balance and accountability. Following Jesus' example, our leaders are first and foremost servants, using their influence to empower and equip others. God has given different gifts to different people. Our leadership team reflects a variety of gifts, perspectives, and experiences. We actively identify and develop new leaders, believing that leadership is not about position but influence. These values aren't just aspirational statements but practical pathways to living the abundant life Jesus promised—a life where we thrive together in His presence and purpose. Values shape who we are at our core—they guide our decisions, relationships, and daily choices. At Upper Room Fellowship, we believe transformation happens when our hearts align with God's heart. As we embrace what matters to God, we begin experiencing the freedom and fullness He designed for us. We don't focus on achieving perfection but welcome God's work changing us from within. When God's priorities become our own, we naturally reflect more of Jesus in our everyday lives. The beautiful result? We become carriers of His love and light wherever we go—in our homes, workplaces, and throughout our community. The following core values drive everything we do at Upper Room Fellowship. We thrive through relationships with others as we show up authentically, with kindness and with honor. Living this way creates invitational and nurturing communities that love genuinely, risk vulnerability, and communicate effectively. When conflicts arise, we choose reconciliation over division. We celebrate diversity and create spaces where everyone can belong before they believe. By pursuing healthy relationships, we reflect the heart of God who is relational at His core. We thrive in complete joy and are able to live from abundance because Jesus loves us and paid for everything we need by His work on the cross, opening the way for our complete salvation, complete healing, and complete deliverance. We believe God's desire is for His people to experience wholeness in every area of life—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and relationally. This fullness isn't just for a select few but is available to everyone who follows Jesus. We thrive as we serve with God by ministering in our unique and personal way to the world around us with excellence, believing there is no spectator Christianity and that inherent in every person is great value and destiny. We help people discover their spiritual gifts and natural talents, then provide opportunities for them to use these gifts to serve others. Each person has a God-given purpose that, when fulfilled, brings deep satisfaction and impacts the kingdom. We thrive in risk, faith, miracles, signs, and wonders as we partner with the Holy Spirit, being freed to live a supernatural life instead of living in the brokenness of sin and religious bondage. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to believers today. We create space for God to move supernaturally through prayer for healing, prophetic ministry, and Spirit-led worship. The supernatural should be normal for Christians. We thrive in a growing relationship with God through daily interaction with Him in worship, prayer, and reading the Word. This relationship brings about a kingdom mindset that allows us to live loved and causes us to be fully alive. When we experience God's presence, transformation happens naturally. We prioritize creating environments where people can encounter God personally, whether in corporate worship or private devotion. We thrive as we model and share the life of Christ through a life of servanthood and overwhelming generosity, with a desire that our friends, families, and communities know the amazing love and salvation of Jesus. The good news isn't just for Sundays—it's for everyday life. We demonstrate God's love through practical acts of service, generous giving, and sharing our faith with others in natural, relational ways. These values aren't just words for us. They're the heart of what we believe and how we try to live. Jesus showed us what these values look like in action, and we're doing our best to follow His example. These values shape everything we do as a church. Living by these values isn't always easy, but we've found it's incredibly rewarding. There's a real sense of purpose and joy that comes from aligning our lives with what God values. We'd love for you to join us on this journey. Whether you're just starting to explore faith or you've been at it for years, there's always something new to discover. As the Psalms put it, "There truly is a reward for those who live for God" (Psalm 58:11b NLT). We've found this to be true in our own lives, and we'd love to share that experience with you. - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - Creating a culture of honor where we call out the gold in each other - Developing listening skills that seek understanding before resolution - Establishing clear boundaries that protect our hearts without building walls - Risking vulnerability that leads to genuine connection - Extending grace that reflects how God has been gracious to us - Approaching life from a position of having what we need, not lack - Receiving God's healing for past wounds and present struggles - Embracing both divine intervention and wise stewardship of our bodies and minds - Living with an inheritance mindset rather than an orphan mentality - Extending the wholeness we've received to others around us - Discovering and developing the unique gifts God has given each of us - Serving from a place of identity rather than to earn approval - Pursuing excellence without succumbing to perfectionism - Creating pathways for everyone to contribute meaningfully - Celebrating the diverse ways God's image is reflected through each person - Expecting God to work in and through us in ways that exceed natural explanation - Developing spiritual sensitivity to hear God's voice and respond to His leading - Praying boldly for healing, miracles, and breakthrough - Taking faith-filled risks when God prompts us to step out - Balancing supernatural expectation with biblical wisdom and character - Cultivating daily rhythms that create space to connect with God - Approaching worship as relationship, not religious duty - Prioritizing God's presence over programs and performance - Creating environments where encountering God is accessible to all - Allowing His presence to transform us from the inside out - Serving others with no strings attached - Giving generously of our time, talent, and treasure - Sharing our faith through both words and actions - Advocating for justice and standing with the marginalized - Being good news to our neighborhoods, workplaces, and city - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") --- ## URL: https://www.urfellowship.com/connect ### Title: Connect ### Page ID: 6954724 ### Content: Whether you're planning your first visit or you've just been with us, we want to connect with you! This innovative platform allows us to live out our value of service and generosity in practical, meaningful ways. Child welfare professionals, teachers, law enforcement officers, and other community workers identify specific needs of vulnerable children and families they serve. These professionals have direct knowledge of critical needs that, when met, could keep children safe, families intact, and communities strengthened. After thorough vetting, these professionals enter specific needs into the CarePortal system. Each request is legitimate, accurate, and directly impacts a child's wellbeing. Needs range from basic necessities like beds and appliances to more specialized support like mentoring, transportation, or housing assistance. Our Upper Room Fellowship CarePortal team receives email alerts about needs in our community. We then share these opportunities with our church family through announcements, our email list, and social media. This allows everyone to participate according to their gifts and resources. When we see a need we can meet, our team coordinates the response—gathering needed items, funds, or volunteers. Over half of CarePortal requests receive responses within 48 hours! Specially trained team members often have the opportunity to help deliver items, creating meaningful connections with the families we serve. Each need met represents a life touched. When we provide a bed for a child, we're not just delivering furniture—we're giving that child a safe place to sleep and showing their family that they matter to God and to our community. These tangible expressions of love often open doors to ongoing relationships. What begins as meeting a physical need can grow into mentoring, friendship, and spiritual support. To learn more about Upper Room Fellowship's involvement with CarePortal or to join our response team, contact us at Info@urfellowship.com *CarePortal is a platform that connects churches to vetted needs in their community. It reflects God's desire for our complete wholeness - spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. "But Jesus turning and seeing her said, 'Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well (sozo).' And at once the woman was made well (sozo)." Are there areas in your life where you feel stuck? Do you sense there's more to your relationship with God than you're currently experiencing? Sozo ministry provides a gentle, Spirit-led path to identify and remove barriers that may be hindering your intimate relationship with God and your ability to walk in the fullness of your God-given identity and purpose. A Sozo session is not a counseling session, but rather a time of interacting with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to seek wholeness and pursue your destiny. During a session, our trained Sozo team members will sit down with you and, with the help of the Holy Spirit, walk you through the process of freedom and wholeness. Our aim is to love people and provide a safe space where the healing of past wounds can break strongholds, replace lies with truth, and close "doors" to the enemy. Through gentle, Spirit-led prayer ministry, we help you: The Father Ladder helps you understand how early relationships have shaped your perception of God. By exploring these connections, we can identify and heal areas where past experiences may have distorted your view of the Father, Jesus, or Holy Spirit. Through this tool, many discover the profound love of a Heavenly Father who is nothing like human authorities who may have disappointed them. As these connections are restored, many experience God's love in deeply transformative ways. The Wall helps identify barriers that may be blocking your intimate relationship with God. These obstacles often form from past hurts, false beliefs, unforgiveness, or sin patterns that create separation. As each "brick" in the wall is identified, you'll have the opportunity to invite Jesus into these areas for healing and transformation. Many people experience profound freedom as these walls come down, allowing them to experience God's presence in new ways. This powerful tool invites Jesus into painful memories to bring His healing perspective and presence. Rather than merely analyzing past hurts, Presenting Jesus focuses on experiencing Christ's healing presence within those memories. Many people report seeing past events from a completely new perspective as Jesus reveals His truth about what happened. This often brings profound healing to wounds that have affected them for years. Taking the first step toward inner healing is a courageous decision. Here's how to start your Sozo journey: Yes. Once the Lord heals the lie that settled into your spirit, the rest of your life experiences based on this lie will realign to His truth. Many people report significant breakthroughs in just one session, though some may benefit from additional sessions. No. Sozo sessions do not include psychological counseling, Bible study, or teaching. Sozo is prayer ministry that helps heal your relationship with God to enable you to fulfill your destiny. It should not replace professional counseling or medical treatment when needed. A typical Sozo session lasts approximately 2 hours. We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork. Many people experience significant breakthrough in just one session. However, some individuals may benefit from follow-up sessions, particularly if there are multiple areas that need healing or if the issues are complex and deeply rooted. Our team will provide guidance about whether additional sessions might be beneficial. During a session, you'll meet with two trained team members who will guide you through a series of questions and tools designed to identify root issues and facilitate connection with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The session begins with prayer, followed by the use of various Sozo tools as the Holy Spirit leads. The session concludes with prayer and brief discussion about any follow-up steps. While some personal sharing is necessary for the process, you always remain in control of what you choose to share. Our team is trained to be sensitive and to follow the Holy Spirit's leading without pressuring you to share more than you're comfortable with. The focus is on connecting with God, not on detailed analysis of your past. Yes, confidentiality is a core value of our Sozo ministry. What you share during a session remains confidential among the ministry team, except in cases where we are legally required to report (such as intent to harm yourself or others, or cases of abuse). No, Sozo ministry is available to both church members and non-members. We welcome anyone who desires greater freedom and a deeper connection with God. Not everyone has dramatic emotional experiences during Sozo. Healing can be quiet and subtle. Even if you don't feel immediate changes, trust that God is working. Many people report that they continue to notice positive changes in the days and weeks following their session. While Sozo may include elements of deliverance (addressing areas where the enemy has gained influence), it is primarily focused on inner healing through connection with God. Sozo approaches deliverance from the perspective of removing lies that have given the enemy access, rather than focusing primarily on confronting demonic influences. Sozo is unique in its focus on directly connecting individuals with each member of the Trinity for healing, rather than the ministry team being the source of healing. The tools used in Sozo help facilitate this connection in practical ways, addressing root issues rather than just symptoms. Our Sozo team consists of dedicated believers who have: Each team member goes through a thorough application process, receives proper training, and serves under the covering and accountability of our church leadership. Our team approaches each session with humility, recognizing that it is the Holy Spirit who brings healing, not the team members themselves. Deepen your understanding of inner healing and Sozo ministry with these recommended resources: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners..." - Click on one of the dates marked with a circle on the calendar to register for your own private 24/7 prayer session time slot. Each session is one hour long, allowing you to be part of this continuous prayer chain. The call Jesus gave to His first disciples is the same call He gives to each of us: Follow Me. It’s an invitation to apprentice under Him and learn His ways. “Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace” (Matthew 11:29 MSG). The goal is that we would become people of love, loving others the same extraordinary way Jesus loves us. Actually following Jesus encompasses more than praying a prayer or going to church on Sundays. As in an apprenticeship, it involves: This week of 24/7 Prayer is a great opportunity to “be with Jesus” so we can experience more of the fruit of becoming like Him—things like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23 NASB)—so that, in turn, we can do what He does, like loving people who don’t deserve it and seeing their lives powerfully transformed. From **July 6th through 13th**, believers from across our community will come to the Upper Room Fellowship sanctuary for 24/7 prayer and worship. Every hour of every night and day, someone will be enjoying the Lord's presence and encountering His life- giving power. Join us for a vibrant corporate worship session open to everyone. Come expecting to encounter God's presence alongside your brothers and sisters in Christ. The remaining 166 hours will be filled by individuals and small groups who reserve private one-hour time slots. These intimate prayer times are yours alone—just you and the Lord and anyone you personally invite to join you will be there. We encourage everyone to claim at least one hour during these seven days. Past participants have experienced transforming encounters with God during these dedicated times of prayer. Come with expectancy. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you in fresh ways. Let Him refresh your spirit, renew your mind, and fill you anew with heaven's goodness and power. Register for your prayer hour today and be part of this transforming week of seeking *"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is* *that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." —John 15:5 ESV* - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - You will promptly receive an email confirmation that your registration has been successfully processed - If you sign up for multiple time slots, you will receive a separate confirmation email for each one-hour session - Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to allow for a smooth transition between prayer sessions - Feel free to bring your Bible, prayer journal, or any other materials that help you focus in prayer - Being with Jesus - Becoming like Jesus - Doing what He does - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Home](/ "Home") - [New Here?](/new-here "New Here?") - [About Us](/about-us "About Us") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo") - [Messages](/messages "Messages") - [Contact](/contact "Contact") - [Connect](/connect "Connect") - [Give](/give "Give") - [CarePortal](/careportal "CarePortal") - [Core Values](/core-values "Core Values") - [Leadership](/leadership "Leadership") - [Ministries](/ministries "Ministries") - [Sozo](/sozo "Sozo")
