Growth Campaign
In 1971, a handful of believers met in an upper room above a vet's office in Columbiana. No building fund. No plan. Just obedience. They prayed, worshiped, and invited friends who needed Jesus. God showed up.
Fifty years later, that simple yes has transformed lives, healed marriages, broken addictions, and brought generations back to God.
Four times since then, we've faced the same choice: expand or stay comfortable. Four times we’ve chosen faith, and four times God has provided.
Every generation before us made room. They gave sacrificially and endured construction chaos because they believed more people needed Jesus. They chose faith over comfort. They made space.
Now it's our turn!
This campaign is called Transforming Together because that's what happens when we step forward as one. We're not just adding square footage. We're making space for God to move. Space in our sanctuary for more people to encounter Jesus. Space in our budgets for what matters eternally. Space in our lives for what God wants to do next.
Fifty years from now, people we'll never meet will gather in the space we're building today. They'll encounter the same Jesus, find the same real community, and be transformed the same way. And they'll thank God we chose faith over comfort. That we made room.

God is moving. New people are walking through our doors every week. Our sanctuary is full, and we have a choice. We can stay comfortable where we are, or we can step out in faith and make room for what God is doing.
We're choosing to make room together.

How much will this cost and where does the money come from?
The estimated cost of the sanctuary expansion is two and a half million dollars. This will be funded through the sacrificial giving of our church family over three years.
How much larger will our sanctuary be?
Our expansion will move us from a space that is consistently full to one that can comfortably welcome our current congregation and the new families. We are designing the sanctuary to feel like a natural extension of who we already are.
What does Transforming Together mean?
God designed us to grow together, and that is what this what we want to do. It isn’t about adding square footage. We are adding space for more people to be transformed by Jesus alongside a community.
When will we build?
We are planning to break ground in the summer. Between now and then, we will be raising funds and moving forward responsibly. As the campaign progresses and we hit key milestones, we will keep you updated!
What happens to our current sanctuary space?
Our current sanctuary will remain in use during construction and will continue to serve the church after the expansion is complete. As we have funds available, the current sanctuary will be repurposed for classrooms, table group meeting space, and multipurpose space. This allows us to grow our ministries and create more opportunities for people to connect and serve together.
How much should I give?
Pray and ask God what He would have you give. The amounts will look different for everyone. God knows what sacrifice looks like for your situation.
Will we go into debt?
Possibly some, and we are being honest about that. We are committed to wise stewardship, so any debt will be at a level we can handle. The goal is to raise as much as possible through this campaign first, then responsibly manage whatever remains.
Will this hurt our regular giving or missions support?
Actually, the opposite tends to happen. When people catch a vision and step into faith-filled giving, generosity across the board increases. A growing, healthy church is also better positioned to support missions long-term. More people means more people passionate about reaching the world.
Will growing change the feel of our church?
No. We have done this five times before, and every single time people had this exact concern. Every single time, we kept it. The family atmosphere we treasure is not about building size. It is about being intentional with one another. Small groups. Real conversations. People who know your name and your story. That does not change because we added seats.
What happens if we don't raise enough money?
We move forward with what God provides. If we fall short of the full amount, we will scale the project appropriately or take on manageable debt. We are not going to overextend ourselves. The leadership is committed to building responsibly, and that means we will only move forward when we know we can sustain it. God has been faithful for fifty years. We trust Him to provide what we need.
Can I give something other than cash?
Yes. Stocks, bonds, grants from donor-advised funds, and IRA distributions are all options. Contact the church office, and we will figure out the details together.
Can I change my commitment amount later if I realize I can give more?
Absolutely. If God blesses you in a way that allows you to increase your giving, we welcome that. Just let the church office know and we will update your commitment. This works both ways. If your situation changes and you need to adjust downward, that is okay too. These are faith commitments, not contracts.
Will there be opportunities to see the designs before we build?
Yes! We will share the architectural plans and designs with the congregation before we break ground. There will be opportunities at vision nights and Sunday services to see what we are building and ask questions. This is your church home, and you should know the plan!
Why did we hire a consultant?
A consultant helps us avoid costly mistakes, runs the campaign well, and frees up our staff and volunteers to stay focused on ministry.
